Heart of Golf
"HOG"
Veterans Program
The Heart of Golf Veterans ("HOG")program was founded by PGA Professional Joe Ralston in 2005.  The HOG
program uses golf as a form of physical, mental and emotional recreation and rehabilitation for veterans and
United State service men and women returning from active duty.

In 2005, the program was awarded a three year start-up grant by the PGA Foundation for being one of the first
programs of its kind to focus exclusively on veterans and improving their lives through golf.

"The VA facility at Fort Roots is the temporary home for many veterans from all over the country. Many of these
men and women have suffered severe physical and emotional injuries while serving our country. Golf seems to
have a unique way of helping them cope with the everyday lives that many of us take for granted." says PGA
Professional and Program Director, Joe Ralston

The "HOG" Programs provides free golf instruction, equipment and use of the golf facilities at Emerald Park to
patients of the Eugene Towbin Health care Facility at Fort Roots in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

The program is funded by private donations and Joe Ralston's artwork which can be seen at www.jralstonart.com
